There are many charities that can help cancer patients in drug financing, methods, and treatment of pain. People with cancer, family members or friends need to know the ins and outs of how to pay for care or treatment of cancer pain. Many cancer patients use insurance services to assist them in the cost of care, which is to bear the cost of prescription drugs or the cost of therapy. Access to insurance coverage affect access to these drugs. In the face of pain, in therapy, it is important to know what to expect from insurance: What is covered by insurance and what not? What questions need to be asked and answered,? What options are available? As insurance options below:

Medicare
Medicare bears most of the drugs and the cost of cancer treatment therapies, health care costs for people aged over 65 years old and people with disabilities for at least two years. Insurance does not replace Medicare prescription drug unless the person received the drug during hospitalization or treatment to the clinic. Medicare also covers hospice benefit from the program that is insured for hospital care for terminal illness or incurable. Hospice benefit allows a person with terminal illness (an estimated age of less than six months) for mrndapatkan care, including outpatient prescription, from a hospital certified by Medicare. Another benefit of the hospice benefit covers nursing home, rest recovery, and curing the acute hospitalization.

Medicaid
Medicaid is a program of community kehehatan insurance and prescription drugs for low-income people and elderly, blind, disabled or have children who still ditangung. Keep in mind that most Medicaid programs limit the number of repetitions or the number of prescription drugs can be given for each recipe. In most cases such as cancer, Medicare and Medicaid benefits can be combined to those who deserve it.

Health Maintenance Organization
Health Maintenance Organization or health maintenance organization providing integrated health perwatan by the physician members and referrals to outside specialists. Most people who join HMOs receive reimbursement for prescription drugs, including cancer pain medication. Most of HMO to determine the type, brand and amount of drug can be prescribed. In many cases, technical or specialized drug treatment or require consent before treatment begins.

Private Insurance
Private insurance policies vary in coverage of prescription drugs or willingness to pay a service fee spesualis clinical nurses, nurse practitioners, physiotherapists, psychologists and other health workers who may be involved in cancer treatment care programs. You need to consult directly with your insurance carrier.

Testicular Mesothelioma

Posted by khanz on Thursday, June 28, 2012

The rarest form of Mesothelioma is Testicular Mesothelioma. So far, less than 100 cases are recorded until now. It affects the lining or membrane that surrounds the tunica vaginalis which provides support and protection for the reproductive organ present inside the scortum. Exposure of asbestos is the main cause of this type of Mesothelioma.

There is a hypothesis about that there are two possible origins of this disease. The tunica vaginalis where Testicular Mesothelioma develops made up of two layers; the outer layer (parietal) and the other is inner layer (visceral). On the serous membrane (serosa) of the tunica you can find firm yellowish white noodles. Sooner or later the noodles enclose the contents of scortum which causes tunica vaginalis to thicken and this result to the formation of tumors.

Signs and Symptoms

There is no particular or recognized symptom of this type of mesothelioma. This is just because of its rareness. In the number of cases the symptoms which are to be seen are swelling of scortum and emergence of lumps on testicles.

Let me tell you the most positive thing about Testicular mesothelioma is even though it is the rarest of all but it is also the most treatable type of Mesothelioma.

Treatment

The treatment of Testicular Mesothelioma generally includes removal of a part of testicle or even a whole testicle, if needed; it all depends on the extent of the cancer. When treating this cancer, chemotherapy is done first and then the radiation therapy is being done to destroy the remaining cancer cells.

Most often the Testicular Mesothelioma is a secondary tumor usually the primary tumor is to be found in the lining or membrane of abdominal cavity (peritoneum). In this situation, the case is not simple enough just to remove the testicle tumor, but in this type of scenario primary tumor must be treated as well.

When chemotherapy treatment is done on a patient, he/she is given chemotherapy medications through intravenous feeding (IV). This medicine kills the cancer cells quickly. Then, the patient undergoes radiation therapy through which the remaining cancerous cells are destroyed and also prevented the growth of new cancer cells by radiating the area that is affected.

According to clinically classification, Peritoneal Mesothelioma and Testicular Mesothelioma are the most aggressive types of Mesothelioma Cancer. This in fact means that these types of cancer spread very invasively and quickly. Even in some cases where tumors are removed through surgery, the Testicular Mesothelioma may reoccur!

Detection of cancer through breath

Posted by khanz on Tuesday, June 19, 2012

Simple discovery is now reportedly could save thousands of lives and reduce time and costs in detecting symptoms of cancer in patients.

On June 2, through the breath of cancer detection tool was introduced at a regular meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology in Chicago. The tool is especially able to detect early symptoms of breast cancer and lung cancer.

Although still in experimental stages, but the invention is clearly more effective and efficient than the patient often requires a routine checkup.

Detection devices were developed by experts from the Georgia Institute of Technology that works by detecting cancer than a person's breath through a special section. The cross sections can even be frozen for up to six weeks before the study.

Breath in the container was then sent to a laboratory that uses chemical sensors to find the components of the body that are cancerous.

According to lead researcher Charlene Bayer, this detector will not eliminate the various testing procedures that have been there, but rather to provide convenience for patients who are in remote or disadvantaged areas.

"Most people think of cancer screening is very complicated, very expensive. So I wanted something easy and cheap to do all the people," said Bayer InnovationNewsDaily.com on the site, as quoted by the Daily Mail (16/06).

In addition, Bayer supports the Digg.com homepage with the report that this is an alternative detection devices from a variety of tests are not performed by the patient comfortable. The cost is quite cheap when compared with a variety of checks that had been there.

WHO: smoke from diesel engines can caused cancer

Posted by khanz

A panel of health experts from the WHO concluded that the smell of diesel fumes can cause cancer. Not only can increase the risk of lung cancer, smoke, diesel engines are also suspected to cause tumors in the bladder.

This conclusion is drawn based on a study on workers in the accretion, rail, and truck driver.

Even so, panel members said that everyone should avoid smelling the smoke released by diesel engines, including diesel engines used in motor vehicles.

This relates to the decision of the International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified the previous diesel engine in the category of carcinogen for humans.

Although not explicitly indicate the type of carcinogen that is owned by diesel engines, diesel engines currently smoke has been classified as carcinogens, together with plutonium, sunlight, and alcohol.

"The scientific evidence is found to have very clear, researchers agree that the smoke caused by the diesel engine can cause lung cancer in humans," said Dr. Christopher janitor, head of research, as reported by the BBC.

"Given the health effects of diesel fumes, the use of chemicals must be reduced."

Meanwhile, the resulting impact on people affected by fumes of diesel engines in low levels is still unknown.

"For the most carcinogenic substances, the higher the exposure received by a person, then the effect will be even greater," said Dr. Kurt Straif of IARC.

There are ways that can be used to reduce the risk of cancer when using diesel engines, using fuels containing sulfur levels lower, or replacing the vehicle's engine.

Cancer Research in the UK says that employers and workers should take appropriate measures to minimize exposure to diesel fumes on workers in the workplace.

However, the director of the Cancer Information, Dr Lesley Walker said that the number of lung cancer caused by diesel fumes less than the number of lung cancer caused by tobacco.

Pericardial Mesothelioma

Posted by khanz

Pericardial mesothelioma affects the lining or membrane of the heart called pericardium. Not all but in majority of cases pericardium mesothelioma happens due to the exposure of asbestos. There are many patients of pericardial mesothelioma which have been exposed to asbestos at their workplaces or even in their homes. It is considered that pericardial mesothelioma is developed when fibers of asbestos enters to bloodstream and also make their way to the heart, from where they deposit in pericardium. Now the development of malignant tumors occurs, perhaps after a course of many years.

Pericardial mesothelioma is the very rarest type of mesothelioma as well as cancer too. About less than 200 cases are recorded until now. Because of the rareness of the disease physicians are not sure enough that just how the pericardial mesothelioma develops and advances.

Signs and Symptoms

Is it Pericardial mesothelioma?

Like other types of mesothelioma you will not notice the symptoms at early stages. In the later stages you will be mistaken the disease by the other heart conditions. So the pericardial mesothelioma is really hard to diagnose due to its rareness.
There are some common symptoms of pericardial mesothelioma which may include
  • Pain in chest
  • Heart murmurs
  • Fatigue
  • Issues of respiratory
Diagnosis

To be very sure whether a patient is suffering from pericardial mesothelioma or not, physician recommends MRI (magnetic resonance imaging). The MRI shows how much the disease advances and also it helps the physician to choose a right treatment for you.

Treatment

Sadly, but I have to say that pericardial mesothelioma has a very poor diagnosis! This is due to some extent of the rareness of the disease and also to some extent due to the late prognosis. Over 50% of the patients of pericardial mesothelioma died within six months after a prognosis.

Most of the treatments of pericardial mesothelioma are designed to improve the quality of life of the patient. The symptoms of patient can noticeably improve for many weeks or months by draining the fluid which may build in the pericardium.

If the pericardium mesothelioma is diagnosed at earlier stage, it may be treated with radiation therapy and surgery. But the process of treatment is very difficult as the patient’s heart and other vital organs should not be excessively exposed to radiation.

As I have already discussed that Pericardial mesothelioma is very hard and difficult to diagnose that’s why the techniques of treatments are not that much advanced!

Asbestos Removal

Asbestos is naturally occurring mineral that has been used in a range of building materials to make them more rigid and fire resistant. It has also been used in household products like ironing boards and oven gloves. Asbestos fibres and dust are potentially very dangerous if inhaled in higher concentrations over a period of time. If this happens, they can cause serious lung diseases including cancer. The symptoms of these diseases often don’t appear for between 20 and 30 years after exposure to asbestos Mesothelioma Symptoms.

Asbestos Removal procedures, the part of the building from which asbestos is being removed has to be sealed off in order to prevent contamination of the other areas. Methods of sealing off an area often include the use of Polyethylene film, duct tape and negative air pressure machines which are fitted with HEPA filters. The idea is that the contained area is pulling fresh air in as to not allow asbestos fibers into the surrounding environment. Only a special vacuum cleaner that's designed for asbestos containment (class H) can be safely used when cleaning up during and after asbestos removal. Ordinary vacuum cleaners cannot be used, even those fitted with a HEPA filter. An ordinary vacuum cleaner will expel the asbestos fibres into the room air.

Asbestos Removal is not the only means of asbestos abatement. Asbestos and asbestos-bearing materials may be "enclosed" or "encapsulated" to prevent building occupants from being exposed to the fibers. An asbestos-containing building that is to be torn down may have to be sealed (see third picture on right), and to have its asbestos safely removed before ordinary demolition can be performed. The asbestos removal may take longer and cost more than the actual demolition.

Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Posted by khanz

Peritoneal mesothelioma affects the abdominal lining (peritoneum) which is why it is also called abdominal mesothelioma. This membrane covers and supports the organs of the abdomen.

The lining of abdominal cavity (peritoneum) is made up of two parts; the visceral layer that covers the internal organs and makes up the most of the outer layer of the intestinal tract and the other one is parietal peritoneum which covers the abdominal cavity.

Cells in these linings produce a fluid which let organs to move against each other easily. Like intestines is moving the food throughout the body. The cells of mesothelium are responsible to produce fluid. But when the cancer develops, it causes them to overproduce that create a buildup of excess fluid in the abdominal cavity.

Peritoneal mesothelioma is a very rare type of mesothelioma cancer. In US only 100 – 500 cases are diagnosed each year that makes up only less than thirty percent of all mesothelioma cases.

In most of the cases the pleural mesothelioma usually spreads to the peritoneal cavity, that’s why it is really essential to know that if the primary cancer is pleural or not.

Signs and Symptoms

Am I suffering from peritoneal mesothelioma?

This question must be arising in your mind, if this is the case go seek guidance with your doctor right away because diagnosis at early stage is very beneficial in this type of mesothelioma like every cancer. After the first exposure of asbestos it may take 20-30 years the symptoms to appear. The symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma are so vague that it can be misunderstood by less serious medical issues. Because of this diagnosis of peritoneal mesothelioma becomes harder. So the best approach is if you have been ever exposed to asbestos then you should have regular check ups with your physician.

I am now discussing some very common symptoms:

 Swelling or pain in abdomen

The pain in abdomen is due to lots of solid tumor and while swelling is because of fluid retention.

 Ascites

Abnormal collection of fluid in the abdomen is ascites. In cancer only 10% of ascites cases are being recorded out which peritoneal mesothelioma makes up a very small percentage. Ascites can cause swelling in abdomen, weight gain, an uncomfortable feeling, swelling of ankles and feet, indigestion and nausea.

 Anemia

In anemia red blood cells are reduced below the normal range. Because of this the heart and other organs have to work harder to get the oxygen where it is needed.

 Weight Loss

Regardless of the collection of fluid in abdomen, it increases the size of the waist but the appetite of the patient perhaps affected that cause weight loss.

  Obstruction in Bowel

An obstruction in large or small intestine is quite uncommon, it usually occurs at later stages of peritoneal mesothelioma.

   Fever

It can be caused because of the infection, obstruction in bowel or tumor can also cause fever.

Symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma are not unique so the observation is more required as compared to diagnosis.  Most of the symptoms are related to abdominal mesothelioma which seems to be less serious medical conditions.

Diagnosis

How it can be diagnosed?

The very first step is that your doctor should look your history, that if you have ever been exposed to asbestos or not. It may include your work history too along with your physical exam!

The next step should be followed by to get imaging of abdomen. It may include CAT scan (CT scan), X-ray or MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging). Even though mesothelioma cannot be confirmed visually, tumors perhaps can be seen or excess of fluid can be seen also.

There are three main types of peritoneal mesothelioma tumors:

   Wet

Related with swelling and ascites, small plaques and nodules are visible in this type of tumor.

   Dry

This is the most common type of tumor which is also painful, several small and one large in a similar way located peritoneal masses can be seen.

  Mixed

It is the combination of both wet and dry tumors.Paracentesis is performed to remove the excess fluid from the abdomen; a needle is inserted into the peritoneal cavity to remove the excess fluid and also to examine it by performing a test called cytologic. In this test specialists examine abnormal cells in fluid but it is not a very effective test for peritoneal mesothelioma.

Now the next step is most effective one in terms of diagnosing peritoneal mesothelioma and that is the collection of biopsy. In biopsy cells and tissues can be examined at microscopic level. Biopsy is usually performed at first because it is quite safe.  These tests use some special substances are used to mark the cells of cancer and it also color the protein.

At times further testing may require confirming this is because of the location of the tumors. So in this scenario the next step should be peritoneoscopy. In this test, a local anesthesia is being given and through a small incision with a tool called peritoneoscope doctor looks inside the abdomen. A large sample of biopsy can be collected through this test.

Very often peritoneal mesothelioma is being misdiagnosed so it is very important to share your history of being exposed with asbestos with your physician as asbestos is considered the main cause of this type of mesothelioma.

So be aware of the symptoms of peritoneal mesothelioma. As the awareness can save your life!

Mesothelioma Claims And Your Rights

Posted by khanz on Thursday, June 7, 2012

Mesothelioma patients are victims of an unhealthy situation, especially in workplaces where asbestos is done by using abundant. This is the primary route of asbestos fibers entry 'into the cell body of the victim. After many years the real reason of the disease known as cancer has taken shape. Once the patient is also responsible for this condition? As such he is entitled to fight for his life also in terms of law and justice.

A historical perspective

Mesothelioma case is the first time laid before the law in 1929. This is the point in history when it was made clear by the board of the U.S. law that if a person suffering from mesothelioma cancer or asbestos-related disease, the person may file a case against the body or individual that has occurred due to negligence.

This scenario

Well it is good news for family members and also for the victims of Mesothelioma Senate Judiciary Committee that the United States has brought out the amendments to the "Fairness in Asbestos Injury Resolution Act of 2005" and grants totaling $ 1,100,000 were declared to be victims of Mesothelioma and compensation given within one month. World Trade Center attack also brought the issue into the limelight in this decision and there are thousands of Mesothelioma victim just because it's catastrophic.

You are now taking legal action

You have the right to life and live it to strength and with your head high. If you have not done anything wrong and your life paying for it, at least make sure that those behind the terrible situation at least should be punished and punished. Let them pay in compensation because they are responsible for it.

Peritoneal Mesothelioma

Malignant peritoneal Abdominal mesothelioma cavity showing the location of the peritoneum; peritoneal mesothelioma. is an extremely rare cancer. Only 100 to 500 cases are diagnosed in the US each year, making up less than 30% of all mesothelioma cases.

Peritoneal mesothelioma is a cancer affecting the abdominal lining, or peritoneum (paira-tin-e-um), which is why is is sometimes referred to as abdominal mesothelioma. This membrane supports and covers the organs of the abdomen.

The peritoneum is made of two parts, the visceral and parietal peritoneum. The visceral peritoneum covers the internal organs and makes up most of the outer layer of the intestinal tract. Covering the abdominal cavity is the parietal peritoneum.

Cells in these linings secrete a fluid which allows organs to move against one another. For instance, as the intestines move food through the body. The cells of the mesothelium are designed to create fluid, but the cancer can cause them to overproduce, creating a build up of excess fluid in the abdominal cavity.

Because pleural mesothelioma is more common and often spreads to the peritoneal cavity, it is important to determine if pleural mesothelioma is the primary cancer.

Pleural Mesothelioma

Posted by khanz on Tuesday, June 5, 2012

The lining of lungs (pleura) is made up of two parts; the visceral layer (inner) which is next to lung and the other one is parietal layer (outer) that covers the chest wall. When we breathe these two layer slide over each other and to make this process easier the membranes in the lungs produce a lubricating fluid. After developing pleural mesothelioma these two layers become thicker and then they push inward on the lungs. Due to this a number of signs and symptoms can be seen which I am going to cover below:

Signs and Symptoms

1.     Chest Pain: - Chest pain is caused when the layers of pleura push against lungs as well as you may experience pain in your arms and shoulders.

2.     Breathing Difficulty: - Breathing difficulty is caused when the outer and inner layers of pleura push against the lungs. Due to this, you may face some problems like hoarse throat, swallowing difficulty, coughing and shortness of breath.

3.     Pleural Effusion: - As I have already discussed that the membranes of lungs produce a lubricating fluid through which layers of pleura can easily slide against each other. But after developing pleural mesothelioma the fluid can be easily trapped as the inner and outer layers becomes thicker. Trapping of fluid is called pleural effusion. It can lead to difficulty in breathing and more chest pain.

If you are experiencing the above mentioned symptoms, don’t wait just go to your doctor. Inform your doctor about the symptoms you are feeling and also if you have been ever exposed to asbestos. As exposure of asbestos is the reason for the pleural mesothelioma. The doctor will recommend a number of tests for you for the confirmation. If the tests indicate about the pleural mesothelioma so he can suggest you the best treatment for you.

The reason for this post is to give you information about the most common type of mesothelioma so if you have a slightly feeling of these symptoms you should go to your doctor right way. The diagnosis can be done at early stage and hence treatment can be started at earliest.

Early prognosis can save your life and lead you to a happy life with your loved ones!

Mesothelioma Causes

Posted by khanz on Sunday, June 3, 2012

Mesothelioma Causes - Asbestos is highly resistant to heat and was commonly used in household items and building materials (such as interior and exterior wall sheeting and insulation). You may have had an asbestos mat that you used on your stove top to protect Pyrex coffee pots, or you may have had asbestos-lined gloves and oven mitts. Asbestos only causes problems when it's cut or disturbed in some way because this releases the tiny fibres that you can breathe in (asbestos mesothelioma). Once inside the lungs, these fibres can cause inflammation, fibrosis (scarring) and cancer. Asbestos can also be swallowed when the tiny fibres are air borne (asbestos mesothelioma)

Mesothelioma Causes from industries at Risk, When the asbestos fibers are breathed in, they travel into the nooks and crannies of the pleura where they irritate and can cause physical damage to the mesothelial cells that may result in mesothelioma cancer. The fibers can also cause damage that can result in lung cancer and asbestosis (excessive scarring of tissue on the lungs). If swallowed, the fibers can reach the abdominal cavity where they can cause peritoneal mesothelioma.

Asbestos is a group of six naturally occurring fibrous metamorphic minerals: chrysotile, tremolite, actinolite, amosite, crocidolite and anthophyllite. Of the hydrous magnesium silicate variety, asbestos has long been used for a variety of industrial and commercial purposes. Once viewed as a "miracle mineral," asbestos was commonly used as an insulator. Resistant to heat and fire and high in tensile strength, asbestos was used for insulation in buildings, automobile parts and the shipbuilding trades. Miners, harvesting the hazardous mineral on a daily basis, were most at risk of developing mesothelioma because of the amount of direct asbestos exposure they faced. Asbestos exposure is known to be responsible for a variety of health issues, including:
  • Malignant mesothelioma
  • Asbestos lung cancer
  • Asbestosis
  • Diffuse pleural thickening
  • Fibrosis
Asbestos as a cause of mesothelioma was discovered in connection with occupational exposure to the mineral. Asbestos miners, factory workers, shipyard workers and construction workers were the most likely to contract the deadly disease and amongst the first victims. Mesothelioma is a latent disease that can take anywhere from 30 to 40 years to become symptomatic. A number of cases of mesothelioma were therefore reported within similar windows of time, displaying similar occupational backgrounds. Establishing the link back to asbestos (which was already linked to a number of aforementioned diseases) was a relatively simple task.

What Is Mesothelioma

Posted by khanz

What Is Mesothelioma - Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer that develops from transformed cells originating in the mesothelium, the protective lining that covers many of the internal organs of the body. It is usually caused by exposure to asbestos. Most people who develop mesothelioma have worked in jobs where they inhaled asbestos, or were exposed to asbestos dust and fibers in other ways. It has also been suggested that washing clothes of a family member who worked with asbestos increases their risk for developing mesothelioma cancer. Malignant mesothelioma is cancer that starts in the cells that line certain parts of the body, especially the chest and belly (abdomen). The lining formed by these cells is called mesothelium. These cells protect organs by making a special fluid that allows the organs to move. For instance, this fluid makes it easier for the lungs to move during breathing.

Signs and mesothelioma symptoms include shortness of breath due to pleural effusion (fluid between the lung and the chest wall) or chest wall pain, and constitutional signs such as unexplained weight loss. The diagnosis may be suspected with chest X-ray and CT scan, but must be confirmed pathologically, either with serous effusion cytology or with a biopsy (removing a sample of the suspicious tissue) and microscopic examination. A thoracoscopy (inserting a tube with a camera into the chest) can be used to acquire biopsy material, and allows the introduction of substances such as talc to obliterate the pleural space (a procedure called pleurodesis), preventing more fluid from accumulating and pressing on the lung. Despite treatment with chemotherapy, radiation therapy or sometimes surgery, the disease carries a poor prognosis. Research about screening tests for the early detection of mesothelioma is ongoing. Mesothelioma that affects the pleura can cause these signs and symptoms of mesothelioma:
  • Chest wall pain
  • Pleural effusion, or fluid surrounding the lung
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue or anemia
  • Wheezing, hoarseness, or cough
  • Blood in the sputum (fluid) coughed up (hemoptysis)
Asbestos is the major risk factor for mesothelioma, asbestos is the major cause of malignant mesothelioma and has been considered associated with the development of mesothelioma. Indeed, the relationship between asbestos and mesothelioma is so strong that many consider mesothelioma a tumor. So, Diagnosing mesothelioma is often difficult, because the symptoms are similar to those of a number of other conditions. Diagnosis begins with a review of the patient's medical history. A history of exposure to asbestos mesothelioma may increase clinical suspicion for mesothelioma cancer or cancer symptom. A physical examination is performed, followed by chest X-ray and often lung function tests. The X-ray may reveal pleural thickening commonly seen after asbestos exposure and increases suspicion of mesothelioma. A CT (or CAT) scan or an MRI is usually performed. If a large amount of fluid is present, abnormal cells may be detected by cytopathology if this fluid is aspirated with a syringe. For pleural fluid, this is done by thoracentesis or tube thoracostomy (chest tube); for ascites, with paracentesis or ascitic drain; and for pericardial effusion with pericardiocentesis.

Cancer can be Cured

Posted by khanz on Saturday, June 2, 2012

Much research today is to develop the field of medicine so that patients with cancer still have a median survival now. Of course the percentage of cure of cancer will be greater if the cancer is found at an early stage. The problem is the people do not understand the benefits of early detection of disease through medical check-up.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO) 50% of cancer can be cured by curative without recurrence. Again, it depends on the type and stage of cancer.

The early symptoms of cancer is sometimes not recognized by the sufferer. They thought that these symptoms are mild illnesses such as flu or fatigue, so do not take further action.

Medical check-up is also felt to be necessary because during this time many people thought that he was not sick, so no need to waste money for medical check up. In fact, many cancer survivors who found themselves suffering from advanced cancer when first examination.

Medical check up is done at least once every two years is a profitable investment. Moreover, if you realize that you've had an unhealthy lifestyle and family history of cancer.

Medical check-up is needed to know there are cells that develop malignant or not. If you are convicted of early-stage cancer, be thankful, because chances are very high recovery with treatment that has been tested validity.

What's more, many scientists and clinicians in the field have been researching alternative ways with herbs to assist modern medicine. ants nest has been investigated long ago by Qui Kim Tran and colleagues from Japan from the National University of Hochiminch City. to deter the ants nest the growth of cancer cells very quickly.

Not only Qui Kim Tran, there are many researchers who claim that the ants nest is safe for consumption and contain anti-oxidants are high. Soursop leaves are combined with ant nests have also been the choice of many people with cancer.

In addition, a doctor who wrote The Doctor Who Cures Cancer also has an alternative in terms of what to eat when you have cancer. There are many natural materials that grow well in Indonesia that could be used for cancer treatment. So do not be afraid if you are convicted of cancer pain because of the disease was curable.

SV40 Virus and Mesothelioma

Posted by khanz

Malignant mesothelioma has been linked to asbestos exposure. End of the century thousands of cases of disease are found in individuals who routinely work with toxic minerals in a variety of different jobs. However, after a report that was released about 30 years ago by McDonald and McDonald determined that approximately 25-33 percent of all diagnosed cases of mesothelioma cancer has no definite connection with asbestos exposure. A person who has been diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer is never any contact with asbestos or asbestos-containing materials.

For years researchers have found several other potential causes for the cause of the growth of mesothelioma. One of the patients with mesothelioma may be exposed to Simian Virus 40 (SV40).

Whether SV40?

SV40 is a virus which was first discovered in 1960. The virus is found in the kidney cells of rhesus monkeys. It causes kidney disease and certain cancers in a population of monkeys. This virus also attacks certain tumor suppressor genes and cell death.

Simian Virus 40 U.S. public concern when it is certain that the kidney cells of rhesus monkeys was used in the manufacture of polio vaccine given to humans. This vaccine has been used from 1958 to 1963 and was given to nearly 100 million Americans. There is a sizeable amount of contaminated vaccine Simian Virus 40 and given to humans during that time period. Although exact figures are not recorded how many doses of virus contamination are given, but estimated between 10 to 30 million doses.

SV40 and Mesothelioma

Since the discovery of Simian virus 40 in millions of doses of polio vaccine, researchers have been looking for a relationship between virus and cancer development in humans. Several studies have found that SV40 is present in many people diagnosed with the disease mesothelioma.

A study led by Dr. Michele Carbone is one of the leading mesothelioma specialists in the U.S., determined that more than half (approximately 54%) of all cases of malignant mesothelioma cancer have been infected with SV40 (Carbone, M. "Simian virus 40 and human tumors: It is time to study Mechanisms. "). But they did not find the SV40 contamination in other types of lung cancer. This strengthens the finding that there is a link between SV40 and asbestos cancer, but there is no full proof that the only course that SV40 causes mesothelioma. Doctors gave the hypothesis that exposure to asbestos or immunosuppression may also be involved in this case.

A similar study conducted in 2008 in Hawaii Cancer Research Center and Department of Pathology, University of Hawaii, concluded that about 60 percent of the hamsters injected with Simian Virus 40 intrakardial died of mesothelioma. But the significant role of SV40 in human malignant mesothelioma remains debatable (Rivera et al, "The Relationship Between Simian Virus 40 and Mesothelioma"). The short conclusion the authors report: "There is sufficient evidence regarding the relationship between simian virus 40 on its own or together as a trigger of malignant mesothelioma asbestos. But it is still not enough to speculate about the contribution of simian virus 40 with the overall incidence of pleural mesothelioma (pleural mesothelioma chest). "

SV40 and asbestos

Additional studies noted that the combination of the presence of SV40 and asbestos exposure greatly increases the chances often occur in the development of mesothelioma. In a 2005 report by a number of doctors and scientists Italy (Cristaudo et al, "SV40 Enhances the Risk of Malignant Mesothelioma Among People Exposed to Asbestos: A Molecular Epidemiologic Case-Control Study"), the authors hypothesize that SV40 contributes to cancer development only as an additional factor and not a direct cause.

More importantly, this study determined that "SV40 detection between groups of individuals exposed to asbestos could represent a useful marker to identify those at high risk for MM (Malignant Mesothelioma - malignant mesothelioma). Subgroup of high risk individuals can be monitored for early detection and curative surgical excision may be performed ".

Some doctors continue to seek better ways to diagnose mesothelioma in early stages, karenan identify high-risk individuals such as this equates to saving many lives.
